The formal name of our association is the St. Louis Flying Club, Inc. The Club was incorporated under the laws of the State of Missouri on September 28, 1942. The clubs sole and principal objective is for the benefit, education and enjoyment of its members and to allow its members, at a minimum cost, to become proficient pilots. The Clubs Cessna C-172M and Piper Arrow IV aircraft are based at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport. Club Aircraft
The clubs Skyhawk is a 1975 172M model and was purchased by the club in 1980. The engine was overhauled by Poplar Groves Airmotive in June 2010. The C-172 has long range tanks with 48 gallons usable. The interior was completely redone in November 2003 and is in excellent condition. The exterior was newly painted in Sep 2007.
